Professor Asha Singh Kanwar, one of the world’s leading advocates of learning for sustainable development, is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Commonwealth of Learning. Throughout a career spanning over 35 years, she has made outstanding contributions in the areas of teaching, research and international development. Professor Kanwar's areas of expertise include open, distance and technology-enabled learning, open educational resources, quality assurance, gender and organisational development.
Derek Wenmoth - keynote speaker
Derek is regarded as one of NZ education’s foremost Future Focused thinkers in education. He works extensively with schools and clusters as they seek to prepare students for their future. He also consults with policy makers and government agencies regarding the future directions of NZ educational policy and practice. In recognition of his work, Derek was designated one of 2008’s “Global Six” by the George Lucas Educational Foundation that recognises individuals making a difference in education.
Expectations of modern learners include technology use in learning and teaching, flexible learning environments and programmes that allow anywhere anytime learning. The conference focus on flexible learning aims to illuminate learning and teaching research and inquiry that steps beyond the expectations of a 21st century learner.

Delegates are encouraged to register early. You can register for the online conference or for a face to face experience. However, there are limited spaces at the primary venue in Wellington and at the satellite venues (Christchurch, Hamilton, Auckland). We advise to register early to secure the best experience for you.
